Although the standard’s status is withdrawn, it still has the presumption of conformity in the meaning of regulation 2016/425 and conformance with the regulation ’s requirements can be guaranteed by using the withdrawn version of the standard. The presumption of conformity is valid until a corresponding amendment is published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This European Standard specifies requirements, testing, marking and information to be supplied by the
manufacturer for sit harnesses to be used in restraint, work positioning and rope access systems, where a low
point of attachment is required. Sit harnesses are not suitable to be used for fall arrest purposes.
