The purpose of this standard is to classify access covers according to their loading strength and to specify requirements relating to their design, construction, marking, testing and quality control. This part of this European Standard classifies and specifies requirements for factory made access covers used inside buildings. This standard does not apply to access covers manhole tops outside buildings which are covered by EN 124.
