This Standard specifies a method for determining the flexural and com- pressive strength of mortars. The method is not suitable for specimens of set mortar cut from masonry. Where lime based mortar specimens are prepared
using suction the compressive strength obtained is not suitable for use in relation to the values given for different mortar designations in Eurocode 6: Common Unified Rules for Masonry Structures.
