Kogu standardi sisu vaadati üle ja sõnastati ümber, peatükkide sisu rühmitati ümber, arvestades valdkonna arengut ja sisu liigendatuse loogikat. Nõuded on ajakohastatud, lisatud on riigisisesed nõuded 1435 mm rööpmelaiusega raudteetaristu ooteplatvormidele ning ooteplatvormidele, mis asuvad rongide liikumiskiirusega üle 160 km/h rööbasteede ääres.

This standard covers the requirements for the design, construction and maintenance of railway passenger platforms, covering both new (to be built) and existing (to be reconstructed) platforms, access to platforms and level crossings on the platform access route.
Platforms, that are built before the publication of this edition of the standard may be used until their demolition or reconstruction.
